This is a well thought out and written book. Some topics are too mature for my 10 year (oral / anal sex) so we skipped over those areas for now. Would work well for both the child to read alone, or for parents to read and find wording to use during conversations with their boy. All in all a good purchase, just pre-read and ensure the content you are providing is what you are looking for because it really does cover EVERYTHING.

WOW, the book I received is MISPRINTED! I ordered both the girl and boy versions of this book. The girl's book is great, in color and has everything on the pages that is supposed to be there. The boy's book, however, is missing quite a bit of information, is in gray and white, doesn't have page numbers and chapter pages are blank where there should be images and words, some of the words are so light you can't even see them. Will be returning this book. VERY DISAPPOINTED, my husband and I were looking forward to sharing this book with our sons.Update: I was sent a replacement within 2 days that’s a good copy, all print is correct. Thank you.

This book is highly informative, but I will give it to my sons along with some further guidance. A very specific book about physical changes as well as sexual encounters and masturbation. The discussion about masturbation tries to counter any old scare tactics that masturbation will have negative physical repercussions. Okay, I'm listening. However, I feel the authors set the bar rather low by saying that you can practically never masturbate too much - the one caveat being if you find that you don't have time for doing things with friends and going out like you used to. Well, medically this might be good advice, but I think if the only things on your calendar are going out with friends and masturbating, you might want to look at your priorities. So, when my kids, who are not quite at puberty, are ready for this book, we'll be there as parents to discuss with them our own experiences with and thoughts around healthy sexuality and the pros/cons of masturbation. For now, we have given them "The Boy's Body Book" which is geared for a little bit younger crowd, and helps answer a lot of the questions they have about what changes will happen to them during puberty.

I bought this book for my tween nephew. He’s right in that awkward puberty phase and is raised by a bunch of women so after reading other reviews and how helpful people found this book, I figured I’d give it a shot too. He was feeling very confused about the things that were happening and how he was feeling. I wasn’t sure if he was actually going to read it or not but he did and one day he just started smiling again and said thanks for the book and that he felt better and understood that everything he was feeling was normal 😊👍🏻.

Recently got this book for my 12 y/o son who has autism and is high relatively high functioning. We both really like it. We can read it at his pace, it's well organized, practical, clear, thorough and not too "racey" for him. As a psychotherapist professionally as well as a parent, I would highly recommend for most boys ages 10-13.

This is a VERY bare bones manual for boys who have questions about puberty. The information is all accurate, but incomplete and only useful up to about age 10. If your child has serious questions about puberty or sexual development, look elsewhere.

Bought this for my youngest brothers 13th birthday. 😂😂😂 needless to say he was horrified. I hope he reads it one day because there was a lot of useful information it in. My oldest brother and I had a great laugh as he flipped through the pages his eyes getting bigger with each illustration. It is seriously informative but my brother is very squeamish and timid.

Give this to all my adolescent male patients, and have received rave reviews from pre-teens and parents.

While Aeschylus is not far removed from the origins of tragedy in Dionysian rituals, the constant theme of Euripides is the effort we must make to sustain civilization and a reasonable life within it against the entropic forces which always threaten its dissolution.The influence of Socrates is not hard to discern. The gods are now believed in because they must be the enforcers of moral law. Men and women ought to resist unreasonable emotional urges or face tragic consequences. The single worst fate man can encounter is the loss of his reason.That tragedy made this turn, the gods being pushed off stage and made objects of belief instead of necessity, the characters depicting real people instead of irrational forces of nature and the warm embrace of reason and everything civilized—these are all marks of progress towards a freer and happier human condition. Euripides should be celebrated as a herald of enlightenment thinking.And, of course, the plots themselves have their own interest and merit. All college students should be exposed to Greek civilization and Euripides, humanizing the Socratic revolution by incorporating it into the tragic tradition, is an excellent vehicle to introduce it. This translation, while some fifty years old, reads like modern English and can still be used at the collegiate level. Highly recommended.

I like modern, readable translations and these are great. There are some very nice and helpful footnotes provided which were very much appreciated. I teach Ancient Philosophy, among other topics, and I was very happy with these translations of profound works of art. Medea, for instance, is a truly alarming and impressive creation.

Medea and Other Plays is a collection of plays: Medea, Hippolytus, Electra, and Helen.It begins with Medea, whose husband has married the daughter of Creon, the king. Medea and her childrean are banished from the land, so Medea concocts a plot to kill the king, her husband, his new wife, and the children in revenge against her spouse.She then tricks the daughter of creon into wearing cursed robes so htat she is killed, and the king with her, and then she kills her children, much to her husband's dismay.Then the next book is Hippolytus. Hippolytus begins with the banished king of Athens and his illegitimate son Hippolytus, who is not favorable towards women, so he garners the hate of Aphrodite, who concocts a plot against him. A womam claims to love him, and in secret wants to see him, but he exclaims to the world the evils of women, and with her secret out, she hangs herself. Then the king of Athens returns and thinks his son is guilty and so allows him to be punished by Poseidon, but later finds this is not true, so Hippolytus is freed, and he forgives his father before he dies.The 3rd book is Electra, the daughter of Agamemmnon and Clymnestra, who marries a poor farmer by order. The son, Orestes, was also sent away but soon returns after he is grown, and ends up staying with the farmer. Orestes then embarks to revenge his fathers death, and kills Clymnestra and her lover Aegisthus.The 4th and final book is Helen, in which Helen fears that Menelaus didnt return safely from Troy, only to meet him in person at a later date. Then they must escape from Egypt where they are, which they do by tricking Theoclymenus into giving them a boat.These 4 greek plays are excellentlly written, Euripides,afterall, was one of the greatest greek playwriters of all time, and his plays are a wonderful collection of stories.James Morwood translates them very well, so that they are fluid and easy to understand.The book is slightly over 200 pages and is an easy and enjoyable read.It is a recommendable book to anyone looking to get a copy of these plays or any greek play.

The book was awesome to read and also very easy to understand. I really enjoyed this book. If your looking to read great book on Greek tragedies then this is the book for you.

I was pleasantly surprised when I was reading "Medea". About halfway through the play, I realized that the themes of revenge, depression, and female empowerment are still relevant. Infidelity and vengeance are things witnessed everyday: in movies, in the news, maybe even in our own lives. This string of themes proves further that human kind hasn't changed too much. Though I did have some problems with the plot and some of the overdramatics. Medea revealed to the audience a vulnerable, passionate woman who has a bit of a drama problem and needs just a little too much attention. I think any reader can appreciate the pain she suffered and the disgusting way people in power dealt with her. But is there a line being far over-stepped by killing one's own children just to make a man feel guilty?Though there is some undeniable hyperbole, it is a story a reader or audience member can empathize, and is totally plausible in a modern setting.

This book shows how to profit from playing options in ways that profit from different strike months, theta decay, and betting that a stock or index will not trade to a certain price over a specific time period.The goal of this book is to show the reader how to profit and generate consistent income through trading options with delta neutral strategies. Most of these strategies profit in range bound markets with a wide profit area. They also get the bulk of their profits from theta deterioration, you sell options and they go down in value each day. This book shows the benefits and drawbacks of different types of butterflies, condors, calendar spreads, and diagonal spreads.The book shows you ways to trade options that give you a long term advantage and turns the odds in your favor so you become the "House" like in a casino.For example, the iron condor is often positioned in such a way as to theoretically give you an 85% probability of success. However the author warns that the key to not having 8 nice wins and giving back all your profits on your 9th and 10th trades is proper risk management for the losers. You must control your losses by adjusting or closing your positions for any of the methods in this book to give you a long term advantage.Freeing yourself from the need to predict the market's direction is very powerful.The book gives great advice about the basics of trading. Develop a trading plan, follow your rules, cut your losses, do not second guess yourself. Losses are a part of your trading business. Also insurance costs money in trading whether it is a planned stop or a option hedge.This book gives you many examples of how to trade these strategies and advises to get comfortable and scale in size slowly. Your early trades are to learn, not to make money.Great book for intermediate traders looking to generate income through delta neutral option strategies.

Extremely helpful book for the intermediate option trader. You know the basics and the greeks but what you are looking for is how to put it all in context together and get things to interact meaningfully. Mr. Given correctly emphasises risk management as the most important part of trading but rather than just saying it he actually shows how to do it and not just with winning trades but also with a few right old stinkers. This is what you need - avoid the big losses and it is where many of us fail or learn by the school of hard knocks. His style is no-nonsense and very readabable.Apart from the all important above teh book demystifies a lot of options issues - they are tools that can be used in a number of ways and each has their advantage and disadvantage. One of the things that struck me for example, is that whilst its often repeated ITM trades are inherently safer its never explained exactly why that is so and how that works out. The explanation given in this book is concise and simple to understand and gives me confidence to also trade those higher debit options something which I believe everyone naturally may be somewhat adverse to when one starts.To summarise the book - it avoids over technical explanations of options pricing - I dont need that the software does it for me and I just need to understand the dials and buttons. When you drive a car certainly you know something of the functioning of the engine but its more relevant to know how to use the accelerator, the brakes and the indicator as well as knowing the traffic code. Very much recommended.

The discussions regarding adjustments and exits, along with an emphasis on risk management, provide some great info for all levels of income option traders. If you are already an experienced income option trader, you will probably skip over some of the upfront text. But in the chapters that follow, you will probably get some good information and thoughts to consider that may very well enhance your trading success. If you are fairly new to this type of trading, then this book will give you an excellent and clearly written foundation on which to move forward.
