As with each book in this accurate historical chronicle, the detailed perspective of each female character's life brings my attention to the historical events I so-well ignored learning. Through the eyes of these Bregdan Women, the events that shaped our country before, during, and after the Civil War, bring authenticity to the lives of those who lived through that time. The reader comes away with a clear understanding of the motives that charged, not only war, but the fight for the equality and rights of women, children, American Indians, and early immigrants who sought those rights, only to find they had to fight for them.. This chronicle deepened my understanding of those events and the impact of decisions and actions upon generations that follow. Aside from that, it has captured my heart, my conscious thoughts, and woven its way into my unconscious thinking patterns.I have learned more about the weaving of the fabric of our country and of generations gone by than I have in a history class or from documents and books. In my opinion, it would be beneficial to have " The Bregdan Chronicles" in every high school library, and on every history teacher's reading enrichment list.I highly recommend The Bregdan Chronicles for every woman's heart. Please don't stop writing this chronicle, Ginny Dye!!!

I just don't understand that in just about everything now days, TV, Videos, Books, etc., there has to be an agenda in there to push homosexuality. I thought Ginny was a Christian. You can't be Christian and condone sinful behavior. This is not my opinion, it's God's word. The character, Lillian, in Book 12 is a lesbian. And we are suppose to feel so sorry for her because she can't be open with her homosexuality. Comparing this with slavery and women's rights as far as unfairness. I'm not singling out just homosexuality, I also regard God's word as truth on all sinful acts...adultery, lying, murder, drunkenness, stealing, and many other sinful behaviors we should not condone. I am truly disappointed that after reading all eleven books with clean morals that this is being added. I'm tired of society pushing and pushing homosexuality as good moral behavior! Ginny, I hope you take this into consideration as you write future books.

I have read all 12 books/Chronicals but was not pleased with number eleven; delighted to have the storyline renewed. I am hoping number thirteen will take a stronger turn to the Industrial Revolution and beyond. I gave this edition four stars for multiple reasons which include, Carrie never seems to move beyond school, Moses and Rose were minor characters, Thomas and Abby continue to be embroiled in the same business uncertainty, perpetual slavery discussion are repetitive, there was no concretely surprising instances. There often seems an absence of closure on prior events and characters. My hope is the next installment moves forward with greater speed and historical references and involvement, e.g., intense character development.

Abby has truly been the one to get these women going....and what a roll model...so much history and information in this book...so happy to see all these families are all together and Happy and willing to help each other...Ginny your such a good writer...every time I read your books I feel that I can just picture how everything is....HAPPY...comfortable...loving...exciting ...and intriguing...can't wait till the next book....THANK YOU !

I am so waiting for the next book to come out. This book was just awesome. To read how things unfolded after the Civil War. I have learned a lot. To see the battles those women fought back then so I can enjoy the freedoms I do today. The enormous task those woman had to face and accomplish. Their beliefs and strengths are amazing. I knew there were no child labor laws back then but I never realized how horrible the working conditions were in the factories for both women and children. Through their diligence and faithfulness, things were changing. The fight goes on for the rights of women but I know someday that fight will be won.

I have always loved history since I was a little girl growing up in the Mohawk valley in upstate New York. Historical novels are my favorite type of book. I always anticipate the next Bregdan Chronicle. This one is another adventure tying together the Cromwell family of diversity and strong principled women. The relationships explored through the well developed characters brought to life in each book just whet my appetite for the next one. As Frances, the adopted daughter of the main character is developed so is the plot line of child labor becoming a major concern to the women. The fight to change the labor laws is started in this chronicle!

Again, I hate to see another book end! The plantation, Richmond, Philadelphia and the factories continue to be the background for personal growth and struggles. The families are growing. Familiar stories blend into new situations. Unlike other book series, I don’t find the stories are being re-hashed; instead, the plot advances as characters continue to develop. Carrie continues to grow in her medical education, taking on a surgery internship.

This is my 12th of Ginny Dye's books I have enjoyed reading. I'm so caught up in this series. I can't hardly wait until each new book arrive on my Kindle. I feel like I know each character personal. These people has to be real, because I love each and everyone of them. Wish I can fast forward to the summer 2018 grab my new book and then return to Feb 2018. Impossible SO GUESS I WILL HAVE TO WAIT..Thank you Ginny for keeping my love of reading alive, continue to write this saga I hope it never end.
